Healance Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 16, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Healance collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Healance mobile application.
English
1. Overview
Healance is a personal wellness app that helps users review Apple Health trends, generate AI wellness reports, estimate nutrition from food photos, save reviewed nutrition entries to Apple Health, and track derived wellness metrics such as recovery, training load, and stress trend.
Apple Watch is strongly recommended for the best experience because it can provide richer heart rate, HRV, sleep, and workout data. Healance can still work with available Apple Health data, but some features may be limited when key data is missing.
Healance is not a medical device and does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, emergency advice, or a substitute for professional medical care.
2. Information We Collect
Health and Fitness Data
With your permission, Healance reads selected data from Apple Health, such as activity, workouts, sleep, heart rate, HRV, body metrics, mindfulness, and nutrition-related data. We use this data to show charts, compute daily scores, generate derived wellness metrics, and create AI-powered reports.
Healance may also write reviewed nutrition entries to Apple Health after you confirm them.
Derived Health Metrics
Healance may calculate derived metrics from Apple Health and nutrition data, including recovery score, training load, stress trend, sleep efficiency, sleep debt, HRV and resting heart rate baseline deviations, nutrition quality, activity consistency, and data completeness. These metrics are used to power charts, Today's Status, reports, and product improvements.
Food Photos and Photo Library Access
If you use food photo analysis, Healance processes photos you select manually. If you use the Pro auto-scan feature, Healance may scan recent photos you allow the app to access, use on-device image classification to find likely food photos, and send selected food images for nutrition analysis.
Food photos may be downscaled and sent to our backend service and AI processing providers to identify food items and estimate calories and macronutrients. Healance may store small local thumbnails in the app cache for review screens. We do not use food photos for advertising or tracking.
Account Information
Healance may create an anonymous account automatically. If you choose Sign in with Apple, we may receive and store your Apple-provided account identifier, email address if Apple provides it, and display name if Apple provides it.
We also use a Healance User ID to provide account continuity, customer support, subscription entitlement checks, quota enforcement, analytics, crash diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
Subscription and Purchase Information
If you subscribe to Healance Pro, we process purchase-related information from Apple, such as product ID, transaction identifiers, subscription status, expiration date, renewal status, refund status, and environment. Payment is handled by Apple. We do not receive your full payment card details.
We may receive App Store Server Notifications from Apple to keep subscription status accurate.
App Usage, Analytics, and Remote Configuration
We collect product interaction events, such as screens viewed, report generation actions, food analysis actions, nutrition write/delete actions, settings changes, language settings, subscription screen interactions, and similar app usage events. These events help us understand feature usage, improve the app, prevent abuse, and debug issues.
Analytics events may include your Healance User ID so we can troubleshoot account-specific issues when you contact support. We may also use remote configuration to adjust app behavior such as feature availability, report formatting, cooldowns, or experiments.
Crash and Diagnostic Data
We use crash and diagnostic tools to understand app stability and fix bugs. Diagnostic data may include device information, operating system version, app version, crash logs, performance data, and related technical details.

- Provide health trend charts, daily scores, Today's Status, and nutrition logs.
- Generate AI wellness reports and derived health metrics.
- Analyze food photos and estimate nutrition.
- Save reviewed nutrition entries to Apple Health.
- Manage accounts, subscriptions, quotas, entitlements, and purchase restoration.

4. Service Providers
We use service providers to operate Healance, including:
- Supabase for authentication, backend functions, database services, account management, quotas, subscription status, and account deletion.
- Google Gemini or other configured AI model providers for health report generation and food photo analysis.
- Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, and Firebase Remote Config for analytics, diagnostics, crash reporting, and remote configuration.
- Apple services including Apple Health, Sign in with Apple, StoreKit, and App Store Server Notifications.
These providers process information only as needed to provide their services to Healance.
5. HealthKit and Apple Health
Healance only accesses Apple Health data after you grant permission. You can change Health permissions at any time in iOS Settings or the Apple Health app.
Health data may be processed on your device and may be sent to our backend service and AI providers when needed to generate reports, compute analysis, or provide app functionality.
We do not use HealthKit data for advertising. We do not sell HealthKit data. We do not share HealthKit data with data brokers.
Nutrition data written to Apple Health is controlled by Apple Health. You can review, edit, or delete Apple Health records in the Apple Health app.
6. Tracking and Advertising
Healance does not track you across apps and websites owned by other companies for advertising purposes. Healance does not sell your personal information.
7. Data Retention
We retain account, subscription, usage, analytics, diagnostic, and service records for as long as needed to provide Healance, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
Food photos are processed to provide nutrition analysis. We do not intentionally retain full food photos on our servers longer than needed to complete analysis, although temporary processing, transmission, logging, or provider-side retention may occur according to service operations. Local thumbnails may remain in the app cache until deleted by the app or purged by iOS.
Local data stored on your device remains under your control. Data written to Apple Health is managed through Apple Health.
8. Account Deletion
You can delete your Healance account in the app by opening Settings > Account > Delete Account. Account deletion removes your cloud account and app-specific server records associated with that account, subject to legal, security, and operational retention requirements.
Deleting your Healance account does not automatically delete records already stored in Apple Health. You can manage Apple Health records in the Apple Health app.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encrypted network transport and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International Processing
Your information may be processed in countries or regions other than where you live. These countries may have different data protection laws.
11. Children's Privacy
Healance is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and may provide additional notice where appropriate.
